October is, “breast cancer awareness month” and advancing age is a risk factor for this all too common disease; which got me to thinking about menopause.  All women will experience menopause at some point, and when we do, our skin will also experience quite the change.  Taking good care of your skin before, during, and after menopause is key to ensuring a healthy, youthful appearance.  The reduction of estrogen from menopause brings about acne, dry skin, wrinkles, loss of elasticity, and hyperpigmentation.

Taking preventative measures to maintain healthy skin is going to make a world of difference as your skin ages.  Regular exfoliation with Chemical Peels, Dermaplaning, and Microdermabrasion will remove dead skin cells from the surface and stimulate new cell growth.  An SPF should be applied daily to prevent sun damage from occurring and coming to the surface during menopause.  Laser Facials are used to break up pigment in the skin and eliminate brown spots on the surface.  Skincare products containing a high concentration of human growth factors help stimulate collagen production and counter the loss of elasticity.  Dermal fillers are used to restore facial volume loss, while also filling in fine lines and wrinkles.

Remember that our skin is ever changing, so the products and treatments we use should also be ever changing.  Regular maintenance will keep your skin and confidence glowing.
