45 million people in the U.S. have tattoos and half of them have thought about having one of their tattoos removed. Laser tattoo removal is a very popular choice for getting rid of unwanted ink and with our state of the art Medical Grade Laser Tattoo Removal Machine, the RevLite SI, we have a powerful tool to remove your unwanted ink. With changes in styles and tastes, people are now able to achieve “Fresh Canvas” for new ink or to just remove an old memory entirely. At Las Vegas Dermatology we are always looking for the best products, newest technology and latest techniques to help you lighten or totally remove your tattoo in order to achieve the skin you desire.
Tattoos may be removed with a Q-Switched laser. Not all Q-Switched lasers and tattoo removal providers are created equal. Ask your tattoo removal provider about their medical training and ability to deal with complications should they arise. Also be sure to ask which laser it is that they will be using to treat your unwanted tattoo. The lasers at Las Vegas Dermatology are powerful tools to treat your particular skin condition, click on this link to see the specifications of our RevLite SI tattoo removal laser by Cynosure/ConBio.
Before we begin your laser tattoo removal treatment, a series of questions will be asked of you to determine your goals with the tattoo that you have. Based upon your answers to our questions including: removal vs. lightening of the tattoo, the color of ink used, age of the tattoo, body location, and type of tattoo- amateur vs professional, the team at Las Vegas Dermatology will be able to give you a proper estimate of cost and timing with an approximation of how many treatments will be required for your particular tattoo’s removal. We will suggest a series of treatments because 1 treatment will not be enough to entirely remove an unwanted tattoo, and your satisfaction is our ultimate goal. Typically, it takes between 5-15 treatments spaced out every 2 months for a tattoo to be considered gone.
Different inks respond differently to the tattoo removal laser- black ink is the easiest to remove and turquoise colors are the most difficult ones to clear. People who have lighter skin types tend to respond more quickly than darker skinned individuals. Amateur and older tattoos may clear more quickly than professionally placed and newer tattoos.
