Dermatology Notes from Dr. H.L. Greenberg

What are you thankful for this year?  Thanksgiving is a special season where I carve out time with family and friends who I don’t always have time to connect with throughout the year.  This year, I am thankful for my wonderful team at Las Vegas Dermatology and a solid support structure of business associates and friends here in Las Vegas.  Earlier this month, I had the privilege of lecturing at the American Society For Dermatologic Surgery’s annual meeting in San Diego on Internal Marketing.  My 1st slide emphasized the importance of the team- my team is integral in getting our patients the care they need and expect whether it is by scheduling an appointment, answering a question, keeping the space clean or obtaining authorization from an insurance company; the team is what makes Las Vegas Dermatology an elite practice.

When a close 30 year old friend of mine, who was a pharmaceutical representative, passed away in a car accident earlier this month, it was an experience that shook me to the core and once again reminded me of both the brevity and fragility of life.  Kristin was full of life and a pleasure to know- always there with a smile, a compliment, and a hug to let you know that everything was going to be ok- that life can be funny, happy and fantastic.  The tragedy of my friend’s loss has encouraged me to accomplish those tasks that I really want to do and not to wait until it is too late.  This Thanksgiving, don’t wait- take that trip, buy that something special you have had your eye on and most importantly, please tell those you love how special they are.

Happy Thanksgiving!
