School’s back and life is returning to normal; as familiar routines retake hold, we look forward to consistent schedules and the collision of baseball and football seasons. It’s been a few months since I’ve reached out, and I’m motivated by a return to routine. We all do what we must, and some of what we should. For best results in anything, there must be consistency, for our skincare regimen, bodies, mind and friendships, there are routines for best results. In May 2026, I spoke on post-ablative skin care treatments at The Vegas Cosmetic Surgery Meeting and how having a great skin care regimen following a series of procedures like “The Dr. Vegas 444” can help maximize your results. I will be giving similar talks on scarring, skin care and hair loss at the Nevada Dermatology Society Meeting in Vegas and the DASIL meeting in India. As a patient advocate, I’m passionate about Las Vegas Dermatology® and how we add value to our community and patient’s lives.
In July, I had the privilege of discussing all things skin on The Ed Bernstein Show with my friend Ed– a local attorney with a TV show spanning 3 decades. We spoke about skin care secrets, skin cancer, anti-aging, dermatologic research, the Las Vegas Dermatology Foundation and our new physician the talented and brilliant Dr. Desiree Morris, joining Las Vegas Dermatology® 11/2026. Our discussion went by so fast, that I didn’t get the opportunity to talk about the challenges facing organized medicine including insurance and healthcare coverage. Medicare is an insurance that most of us will receive as a prize for turning 65, but new governmental proposals will reduce payments to those providing medical services, while at the same time limiting access to care by making it more difficult for providers to treat patients in the same visit with multiple skin issues and the need for a dermatologic procedure, both of which threaten access to care. Unfortunately, the world is not yet perfected, so we are forced to deal with the cards we have instead the cards we wish had. To keep providing world class care in our clinic, please speak up and let congress know that barriers to dermatologic care should be removed and that those tasked with providing medical care should be fairly compensated for their work- you can make your voices heard here!
This summer we had 2 medical student rotators, Nadine Lagaya and Muhammad Shamim who spent time in the Las Vegas Dermatology® clinic working on various dermatologic projects with the goals of getting publications to improve awareness of dermatologic conditions and to some day gain acceptance into a dermatology residency program. As a practice, we are committed to making the world a better place. Through the Las Vegas Dermatology Foundation– a 501C3, the Las Vegas Dermatology® team is able to assist students like Nadine and Muhammad and others by helping them achieve their dreams and improve our community by educating those wanting careers in Dermatology- please donate if you are able or interested in supporting us. Keep your eye out for papers and publications on causes of Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria, Hyperbaric Oxygen therapies, the Nevisense device to detect melanoma, Fighter’s skin care tips and more as Las Vegas Dermatology®, the Derm Bros® and the Las Vegas Dermatology Foundation work together to educate Nevada and the world. If you or someone you know has Atopic Eczema, Hidradenitis, Psoriasis, Skin Cancer, Hives/Urticaria or Vitiligo- we are running multiple clinical trials and are always enrolling patients; visit us today.
With summer coming to an end, now is the perfect time to get back on your own routine by focusing on improving your skin health. Whether it’s a procedure or skin care regimen, we have some exciting services and products at Las Vegas Dermatology® to help you look your best.
