2019 was a year of positive transition at Las Vegas Dermatology®, and having, Dr. David Cotter, our new Board Certified Dermatologist join the practice has been the breath of fresh air that we needed to take our practice to the next level.  I’m looking forward to having Dr. Cotter as a driving force in the direction of Las Vegas Dermatology® until he retires.  Las Vegas Dermatology® has grown and improved over the course of 2019, and I am proud of what we have achieved over the past 12 years.  It remains as true now as over the last 11 years, that the job we perform, the people we treat and the warm, caring environment we provide allows our practice to be tops in the City of Las Vegas where we embody the principle of, “For a Healthier & More Beautiful Life.”

Life has a funny way of catching you off guard and when you’re blindsided it’s hard to know which end is up and how to react.  It takes a while to figure out what you want to say and then it takes a while to say it.  Back in 10/6/2016, I met a remarkable man, Shaka Senghor who after being convicted of murder as a teenager in a Detroit drug deal gone bad, served time in prison and solitary confinement.  Shaka got educated in prison and turned his life around- forever dedicating himself to being a positive force for change in the world.  One of Oprah Winfrey’s top 10 interviews ever, Shaka talks about how none of us should be forever judged by our worst day and how the world doesn’t care about your excuses.  The personal challenges I faced in 2019 tested me and I handled them as best as I could.  Although we cannot change the past, like Shaka, we can learn lessons from what has happened and move forward in a positive way.  My goal in 2020 is to have more empathy for those I treat and for the family and friends around me.

Las Vegas Dermatology® strives to have the most advanced dermatology practice in the city- be it through our attitude, customer service, technology, research, office space, and responsiveness.  At Las Vegas Dermatology®, we treat all kinds of patients, from those who have very serious medical concerns to people with unwanted tattoo ink preventing them from joining the military.  Many of our patients are fearful of the implications of a diagnosis or what skin condition they may have.  Other patients are simply looking for a little pampering from our fabulous aesthetician Autumn with a laser facial, Hydrafacial or light chemical peel for an event.

For years it has been my dream to be a Board Certified Dermatologist practicing in Las Vegas, and I am indeed fortunate to be living that dream.  As a physician in a medical dermatology practice, the serious nature of what my team and I do requires a fiduciary responsibility where we place the needs of the patient above our own needs.  I am looking forward to 2020, a year that can be whatever we make it to be, hopefully the goals you set will help you find contentment, health, love and peace.
