From the Desk of the Medical Biller
Insurances can be tricky for all of us to understand! Insurance coverage and requirements necessary to assure that your insurer will pay for your services vary widely. Many insurance companies require an approval, called “pre-authorization” or “pre-certification,” before your doctor performs certain tests or consults with you for a visit. Your insurance also may require a 2nd opinion before it will pay for certain surgical procedures. Our experienced staff members at Las Vegas Dermatology® communicate with your insurances prior to each and every visit, making sure we have any prior authorizations required.
Although we make every effort to assist, it is not always possible for us to know the specifics of every plan. You are ultimately responsible for knowing your insurance policy requirements and working directly with your insurer to understand the required steps. It’s important to understand your insurer’s rules regarding which services will be covered and which will not. You may contact your insurance company directly to determine your plan’s requirements and what portion of your care will be your financial responsibility. As always, should you have any questions about your billing here at Las Vegas Dermatology® or are in need of assistance to understand your EOB we encourage you to call our billing representatives to help.
