It’s time for 2017. Late this year, I was asked by the editorial staff at, The Dermatologist to write an article on, “New Trends for 2017”. There is so much new and exciting in the world of dermatology that I’m looking forward to implementing what my team and I have learned in 2016. What I did not know when, The Dermatologist asked me for a picture to put beside my, “Trends for 2017” article, was that they would also put my picture on the cover of the magazine. Last year I was on the cover of and the feature article in MedEsthetics Magazine, and now with this current journal, I have had 2 industry specific covers in 2 years, which besides being personally rewarding, goes to show that we are doing a lot of things right at Las Vegas Dermatology®!
Each year we have a staff, “Seasonal Gathering”, where we celebrate our team, reflect on the year that has passed and look forward to the future. I give my staff an in-depth State of the Practice at our last Wednesday meeting of the year. While preparing that discussion, I found it interesting that in 2016 I was invited to speak at conferences or events 8 times, penned 5 articles and mentored a number of medical residents and would be physicians. The goal of team #LVDerm remains to help provide our patients with the tools and resources, “For a Healthier and More Beautiful Life.”
In 2016, I wrote about goals, and in 2017, I ask you all to do the same- write down your goals- figure out what you want and go for it. We have an amazing new Physician Assistant at our practice- Kasie Palmer. Kasie is bright, thorough, diligent, kind and knowledgeable- she and I work together to provide great care for our patients. Additionally, we have hired Rena Al Mardini a gifted and bright aesthetician who moved here from the Obagi clinic in Beverly Hills to join our aesthetician team leader, the talented and passionate Autumn Varis in providing treatments for unwanted hair, tattoo ink, brown spots and wrinkles.
