Dr. H.L. Greenberg
Dr. H.L. Greenberg, known as “Dr. Vegas,” is a Board Certified Dermatologist with expertise in medical, surgical, laser, and cosmetic dermatology. He co-founded The Derm Bros® and has focused on raising awareness of how the pandemic has impacted patients with skin diseases.
Dr. Greenberg graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan and later specialized in dermatology through fellowships and residency programs, including a focus on Mohs micrographic surgery. As a lead investigator in clinical trials and a frequent media expert, Dr. Greenberg has authored numerous publications and lectured internationally on various dermatology topics. He is actively involved in professional organizations and serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He founded Las Vegas Dermatology® to create a patient-centered, high-quality practice and established The Las Vegas Dermatology® Foundation to promote skin health in the community. Dr. Greenberg aims to provide his patients with a “Healthier & More Beautiful Life” through compassionate care and advanced treatment options.

Dr. David Cotter
Dr. David Cotter is a native Las Vegan and a dermatologist with expertise in medical, pediatric, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. He is dedicated to helping patients achieve their best skin at Las Vegas Dermatology®.Dr. Cotter graduated with highest honors from UNLV and earned both an M.D. and a Ph.D. in molecular cell biology and physiology from Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his dermatology residency at UC San Diego, serving as chief resident. In addition to his clinical practice, he is an assistant clinical professor at UNLV School of Medicine, where he mentors students and engages in research.

Dr. Sarah Bovenberg
Sarah Bovenberg, M.D., Ph.D., is a Board Certified Dermatologist, Fellowship-trained Mohs Micrographic Surgeon, and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology specializing in skin cancer treatment and advanced dermatologic surgery. Originally from The Netherlands, she graduated from Leiden University Medical School and earned her Ph.D. in cancer research at Harvard Medical School as a Fulbright Scholar. She completed her dermatology residency at UC Davis, where she served as Chief Resident, and a Mohs fellowship under Dr. Leonard H. Goldberg in Houston.
Dr. Bovenberg’s expertise includes Mohs surgery, aesthetic reconstruction, scar revision, and cosmetic dermatology. She has authored numerous academic papers advancing cancer diagnostics and treatment. Passionate about patient care, she looks forward to serving the Las Vegas community with her specialized skills. Outside of work, Dr. Bovenberg enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and contributing to professional organizations like the American College of Mohs Surgery.

Scott A. MacLeod, DO
Dr. MacLeod has been practicing dermatology in the Las Vegas valley since 1995.
He received his Doctor of Osteopathy from Western University of Health Sciences (formerly College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific) in 1990. At that time, he also completed a fellowship in Osteopathic Principles and Practices. After his internship at the Michigan Health Center in Detroit, Dr. MacLeod gained broad experience working as a general practitioner and pain management specialist. He shifted his focus to dermatology while working for a large dermatology group in the Metropolitan Detroit Area. He moved to Las Vegas 3 years later to start his own practice.
Affectionately called “Papi,” Dr. MacLeod treats patients of all ages. For those who are new to this country, he also speaks French and Spanish.
Dr. MacLeod has too many interests and hobbies to list, but as an older gentleman he has abandoned more physically aggravating pursuits such as scuba diving (motion sickness) and martial arts (arthritis) in favor of hiking and golf (poorly). When he is spending his time living sedentarily, he enjoys listening to music (Classical, Blues, and 60’s and 70’s Rock), solving the world’s geopolitical and economic problems with lively conversation, and partaking in the pleasures of the table.

As a native Las Vegan, Dr. David Cotter is excited and proud to practice dermatology in his hometown. Dr. Cotter’s many years of clinical and scientific training have equipped him with expertise in medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Cotter is prepared to help you attain your best skin at Las Vegas Dermatology®.
Dr. Cotter graduated from UNLV with highest honors, and obtained both an M.D. and a Ph.D. in molecular cell biology and physiology at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Cotter completed his residency in Dermatology at UCSD School of Medicine, where he served as chief resident. He is an expert in skin disease and has experience treating patients with both common and rare dermatologic diseases. He serves as an assistant clinical professor at the UNLV School of Medicine. Dr. Cotter has published many peer reviewed articles, educates his peers at national meetings, mentors medical students, and actively performs clinical research. His unique background as a physician scientist allows Dr. Cotter to offer his patients the most advanced skin care treatments.
Personal
When he is not working, Dr. Cotter enjoys hiking with his wife and children, practicing martial arts, and exercising. A fossil hunter, and rock collector, Dr. Cotter shares his passion for nature, history, and exercise with his family.

A licensed Physician Assistant for 42 years, Joe Gurule, PA-C, MS graduated from the University of Oklahoma, and has been in dermatology full-time for over 24 years. Prior to finding his calling in dermatology, Mr. Gurule worked in the fields of adult primary care medicine, urgent care, and neurosurgery. However, it was in dermatology, particularly in the care of our veterans, that Mr. Gurule developed a passion for and continued enthusiasm in care of the skin.
As adjunct faculty at Touro University in Henderson, and the former President and Secretary for the Nevada Academy of Physician Assistants, Mr. Gurule enjoys teaching and training his colleagues. To this end, PA Gurule has given lectures at national meetings including the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Veteran’s Academy of Physician Assistants in addition to lecturing the entire medical staff at the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System. He is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Mr. Gurule enjoys treating the more mature patient, with a special emphasis on treating cancers of the skin. Additionally, he was an early adapter to various laser systems and has been trained in the use of our lasers at Las Vegas Dermatology®.
