manscape

You don’t realize how much time you waste doing things you don’t enjoy doing, until you’ve stopped doing them.  I’ve had a beard for almost a year now, and I don’t see a return to shaving anytime soon; I’m happy to manscape with my beard trimmer a couple of times a week instead.  Laser hair removal can be a time saver, but had I gotten laser hair removal before my neck hair turned grey I wouldn’t be shaving there at all!  As it turns out lasers don’t treat grey hairs- they only work on black hair- so blondes, red heads and those of us with grey hair are left to other hair removal options.  You get to a point in your life where even one day shaving is too much.  Admittedly, complaining about shaving is a first world problem- manscaping in and of itself is a first world problem.

What constitutes manscaping?  Anything a man does to enhance or improve his appearance could be considered manscaping- the list is large but for our skin discussion purposes includes:  eyebrow plucking, laser hair removal, back hair waxing, artificial tanning, chemical peels, brotoxing, skin tag removal, destruction of sebaceous hyperplasia, and even microneedling.  The goal of manscaping is to feel good about who you are by taking care of yourself.  In the past month I’ve had two chemical peels and a microneedling, maybe it’s time to treat yourself or someone you love for a little, “Manscape Monday” your skin will thank you.
